CLINICAL RESEARCH
VETERINARIAN

My client, a major, stable, northeast based research
organization has asked me to find a Clinical Research Veterinarian (CRV) to
work under the Supervision of the Director of the Animal Models Core and have responsibility
for: maintaining the physical and psychological health of laboratory animals
utilized in their research; compliance with regulations governing humane and
ethical treatment and use of laboratory animals; animal model development and ensuring
quality animal supply for studies. The CRV will advise researchers on the
design, implementation, and completion of studies to evaluate therapies and
assist with submission of IACUC protocols, ensuring regulatory
compliance within their research program as well as providing oversight to
post approval monitoring of IACUC protocols and animal study areas
for the program.

 

You’ll need licensure to practice veterinary medicine in
at least one US state and ability to obtain licensure in Pennsylvania within 6
months of employment.

DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited
veterinary school and a minimum of 1 year of experience in Laboratory Animal
Medicine
USDA accreditation within 6 months of employment required
Ability to obtain DEA registration
Veterinary clinical skills with a variety of animals NHP experience is a
plus.
Excellent organizational and project management skills 
Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Programs. 
Experience conducting research in a USDA or FDA regulated
environment preferred. 
Current and relevant working knowledge of regulations governing the use of
animals in teaching and research (e.g., USDA, PHS, AAALAC)
preferred.
