Summary: The Principal Anatomic Veterinary Pathologist will support the offering a range of pre-clinical services to meet the needs of pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical companies. In this role, you will provide the scientific support to the pathology needs for the toxicology and efficacy programs by providing and overseeing the gross and histological examination of tissues. Additionally, you will play a leading role and actively work with the Scientific Committee in the corporate strategic planning and the organization of the research activities and programs, to visualize the future expansion, and to assess periodically the resource needs to achieve its mission.
Qualifications:

DVM in Anatomic Pathology studies is required.

DACVP Diplomate is strongly preferred.

Experience in regulatory pathology, toxicology, pharmacology, and histology
-
CRO and/or pharmaceutical industry experience in toxicologic or investigative anatomic pathology is a must.
Responsibilities:

Serve as scientific leader for all pathology matters as well as support the growth and expansion of pathology services.

Act as pathology expert regarding finding interpretations and other pathology-related services, including animal modeling.

Provide medical and scientific expertise in clinical an anatomic pathology in accordance with regulatory guidelines and sponsor requirements.

Conduct histological examinations of samples for target validation and mechanism of action investigations, while providing histopathological diagnostic expertise.

Collaborate with Research and Study Directors regarding pathology needs of toxicology studies.

Responsible for authorship of pathology reports.
